The Fall Metrics Sheet
Same setup, every time, or the number lies.
For athletes, parents and coaches · Baseball and softball · Free PDF, 2-page sheet

Who this is for
- High-school players tracking their own numbers through the offseason
- Parents who want to understand what a showcase number means
- Coaches logging a group with one sheet
What this worksheet is
Page one defines the five numbers a high-school player gets asked about and how each is actually measured in the cage. Page two is a blank tracking sheet. There is no benchmark column on purpose: published averages vary by source and by method, so the sheet is built to track your own number the same way every time.
What's inside
- Exit velocity, bat speed, pitch velocity, arm velocity and the 60, defined
- How each one is measured and what to hold constant
- Why there is no benchmark column
- A blank log: date, metric, setup, result, notes
How to use it
- 1Read page one before the first test so the setup is written down.
- 2Log every session on page two, same tool and setup every time.
- 3Retest on a schedule, not on a feeling.
- 4Move to the Baseline and Progress Worksheet when you want a baseline and a change column.
